Colorful India – Best of Agra, Delhi, Rajasthan

Rajasthan’s kingdoms are an enduring legacy to India’s history. A land endowed with invincible forts, magnificent palaces and waves of sand dunes and serene lakes. No other region in the country assembles the many paradoxes of India, as does the desert land of Rajasthan. By far it is the most colorful region in India.

Jaipur

The city of victory, Jaipur presides over the fascinating desert state and its people. Surrounded by rugged hills, each crowned by a formidable fort; and beautiful palaces, mansions and gardens dotted throughout its precincts.

Among the highlights to be seen while touring Jaipur include the Amer Fort, the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. Walk to the adjacent Jantar Mantar or Astronomical Observatory built in 1726 that makes accurate predictions even to this day

Delhi

Visit the Capital of World’s Largest Democracy – Delhi, also one of the most iconic cities of the world. A treat for architectural lovers, visit the Huamyun’s Tomb, a precursor to the TajMahal in the famed capital city of Delhi, that is also a bustling metropolis today and successfully combines in its folds – the ancient with the modern.

The tour to Delhi will include a visit to the QutabMinar, the tallest stone tower in India, a 12th century 72 metre high minaret and the colonial era buildings of the imposing India Gate, the Parliament Building and the RastrapatiBhawan, the President’s residence.

Both Humayun’s Tomb and QutubMinar are UNESCO World Heritage monuments.

Mumbai

The capital city of Maharashtra State, is India’s financial capital and home to India’s largest film industry
– Bollywood.

Kerala

Kumarakom is an unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lilies. Situated on the Vembanad Lake, in this small water world you’ll come across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats and canoes which will take you into the heart of the scenic lake. The resorts offers comfortable accommodation and exclusive leisure options (on payment basis) like an Ayurvedic massage, yoga, meditation, boating, fishing, angling and swimming.

Ajanta’s Caves

Ajanta’s wondrous cave temples are cut into the rocky sides of a dramatic crescent-shaped gorge, at the head of which is a waterfall that drops over the mountain rim in a series of seven steps to a pool far below – the Saptakund. Dating back to the 2nd century B.C., deep inside the mountains is the Buddhist chaitya – vihara prayer and monastery caves. The Ajanta Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Varanasi

Varanasi, or Benaras, on the banks of the river Ganges, is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Mark Twain, the English author who was enthralled by the legend and sanctity of Benaras, once wrote: “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together”.

Khajuraho

Once upon time a great Chandela capital, Khajuraho is now a quaint village in the heart of India. The temples here date back to 950 AD. The temple walls are adorned with sculptures of Gods and Goddesses, warriors and musicians, animals and couples in explicit but beautifully depicted love making positions from the Kama Sutra!

Khajuraho temples are a UNESCO world heritage site.
